RHB Singapore Cup: Tigers Edged Out By Ceres For Third

Philippines invitee Ceres La Salle produced a superb second-half comeback to beat Balestier Khalsa 2-1 in the RHB Singapore Cup third place playoff at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Tigers led at half time through Niko Tokic’s early opener, but the Busmen came up good in the second half and scored two within five minutes to take third spot in the competition.

Marko Kraljevic’s charges got off to a dream start as they struck the back of the net after just four minutes. Tokic latched onto a long ball, held off his marker in the box before lashing home a volley into the bottom left corner.

Tigers End League Campaign With A Win

Balestier Khalsa wrapped up their 2016 Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League campaign in style with a 2-0 victory over Brunei DPMM at the Toa Payoh stadium on Wednesday night.

Niko Tokic’s industrious display was rewarded with a goal at the start of the second-half before substitute Miroslav Kristic stroked home the Tiger’s second goal to seal the Wasps’ fate in the dying minutes of stoppage time.

Despite ending the Bruneians’ five-game winning streak, the result had no bearing on the S.League standing as Balestier finish the campaign in eighth place, while DPMM took third position.
